Layout tips
Use furniture as walls
A sofa back or an open shelf placed perpendicular to the wall divides the living zone from the bed without blocking light.
Keep the kitchen work triangle tight
Even in a galley kitchenette, the sink, range, and fridge should form a compact triangle so cooking doesn't take over the whole apartment.
Define the bedroom with a rug
A rug under the bed signals 'this is the bedroom' even when there's no door, which makes the studio feel larger and more organized.
